Online Safety Act: assess AI content and service-specific obligations

Online Safety Act: assess AI content and service-specific obligations. Existing Act; applicable codes and standards have separate scope and dates. Check coverage for each AI use case.

Generative tools can create or distribute harmful material through online services. The applicable online-safety requirements depend on the service category, content and regulatory instrument. Not every AI user is subject to every platform-provider obligation.

Use-case investigation: identify whether the organisation operates a covered service or uses another provider, its content types, moderation and complaints pathways, removal responsibilities and incident evidence. Check the current applicable code or standard and commencement separately before approving the regulatory baseline.
